On January 23, 2024 Polk County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Michael Bays , DOB: 09/13/1965 and charged him with attempted felony murder. The charges stem from an incident in the Cypress Wood Community.
According to the arrest affidavit Bays became upset with the victim, who was on motorcycle, while they were on the roadway inside the Cypress Wood Community. Bay reportedly followed the victim home. Bay confronted the victim in a threatening manner at the victims home. This prompted the victim to threaten Bay saying he had a knife and Bay needed to leave. As Bay was leaving the victim took pictures of his tag and then trying to get a picture of Bays. Bays allegedly turned the wheel, of the truck, towards the victim knocking him down. Bays allegedly put the truck in reverse trying to run the victim over again, but he was able to roll out of the way. Bay eventually left the area.
The incident was witnessed by a neighbor and Polk County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Bay and transported him to Polk County Jail.
