Obituary of Barbara Jean Riegle
Barbara Jean Riegle, age 75, died peacefully in Lakeland Florida on 12-22-23. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Jack Riegle. Barb leaves behind her only child, Rick Peters, who is also a Lakeland resident, his daughter Amber Peters, a grandchild Savannah Riegle, and stepchildren Troy Riegle and Julie Koochagian as well as their children and grandchild. Additional survivors include Barb’s older brother Jim Splittstoesser and his two daughters, Penny Roubison and Janie Myers as well as her younger sister, Vicky Harrison and her son Seth Harrison. Barb’s parents, Gene and Helen Splittstoesser, died respectively in 2007 and 2005. Victory church is where she and Jack attended for several years. Barb loved to work, sew, cook, and exercise her creative abilities. She loved her family and the Florida sunshine. Barb had many friends and will be missed by all who knew her. A service will be held at Auburndale’s Kersey Funeral Home & Crematorium at 2pm on 12-28-23. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the local Humane Society, as Barb loved animals, especially dogs.
