The Lakeland Police Department is proud to join The Drug Enforcement Administration and its national and community partners for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, for citizens to dispose of unwanted, unneeded, or expired human and pet medications in a safe manner.
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day provides a convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medication. Studies show that medicines in home cabinets are highly susceptible to misuse and abuse. Our communityโs Prescription Drug Take-Back Day will allow citizens to turn in unused, expired, or unwanted Human and Pet Medications, as well as over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and other medications in liquid and solid form, for proper disposal. JUULs and other e-cig devices will also be accepted. NO needles will be accepted, and medications should be placed in a clear, air-tight plastic bag.
Date: Saturday, April 26, 2025
Time: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
Location: 219 N Massachusetts Ave, Lakeland, FL 33801
For those unable to attend on April 26th, unwanted medications may also be brought to the Lakeland Police Department and placed in the drop box located in the lobby. Access to this drop box is available 24/7.
Additional Drop-off locations can be found at: Take Back Day (dea.gov)
