On March 11, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Lakeland Police responded to a call about a man attempting to break into vehicles at the Ledger parking lot, located at 300 West Lime Street. Officers quickly located the suspect, later identified as Ryan Peavy, a short distance away at the corner of Florida Avenue and Orange Street.

Peavy admitted to pulling on door handles to check for unlocked cars and confessed to entering a vehicle, where he stole a bottle of pills. Witnesses identified Peavy, leading to his arrest for burglary.

This arrest highlights the importance of community vigilance and cooperation between citizens and law enforcement. Officers and observant witnesses successfully apprehended the suspect, preventing further thefts.
