The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit has just confirmed one of the drivers from this morning’s accident is deceased (a 61-year-old woman.) More info will be released later.

On March 6, 2025 Polk County Fire Rescue and Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle crash at Hwy 542 W and Jimmy Lee Rd in Winter Haven.
The 911 call came in around 9:09 a.m.
We reached out to Polk County Fire Rescue PIO Nathaniel Gale regarding injury details and he confirmed they transported two patients from the scene via ground. Additional patient details/injuries will be released at a later time from PCSO.
We reached out to Polk County Sheriff’s Office PIO for traffic details and they advised at 10:19 a.m. they are still on scene and the roadway is congested, but open.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash – one red jeep and one white KIA.
