Stacy Martindale Obituary

September 30th, 1970 – August 28th, 2024

Stacy Ann (Tonjes) Martindale, age 53, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024.  Stacy was born September 30, 1970, in Defiance, Ohio, to  Bruce and Arlene Tonjes.  She was a graduate of Winter Haven High School and the University of Florida where she earned both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Juris Doctorate. As a teenager she was an accomplished athlete, pianist, actress, and student.  She worked as an attorney in various capacities until her retirement in 2011 which took place as a result of a brain tumor.  She bravely lived for fifteen years after her initial diagnosis.   

She was preceded in death by both her paternal and maternal grandparents, Uncle Tony Paduchik and Aunt Phyllis Phillips, and cousins Mark and Scott.  She is survived by her husband Rick Martindale of Orlando, son Trevor Martindale and daughter-in-law Caitlyn of Durham, North Carolina, parents Bruce and Arlene Tonjes of Winter Haven, Florida, sister Laura Muller and brother-in-law Christopher of Palm Harbor, Florida, along with aunts and uncles and cousins.  

Stacy enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, watching her son play sports and following him in his many accomplishments.  

A visitation will be on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Boulevard, Winter Haven, FL with a funeral mass held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at St.  Matthew Catholic Church, 1991 Overlook Drive, Winter Haven, Florida.  

In lieu of flowers, donations in Stacy’s memory may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Suite 550, Chicago IL 60631, St. Matthew Catholic Church, or to your favored place of worship or charity.
