In Loving Memory of Pastor Almond Eugine Katryan

Pastor Almond Eugine Katryan departed this world for his heavenly home on July 15, 2024, at the age of 77.

Almond was born on December 29, 1946 in Auchlyne, Berbice, Guyana, to David and Gladys (née Sukhu) Katryan. He was saved during his teenage years, attended Bible Academy in the US Virgin Islands and started his first mission work in Corriverton, Berbice, Guyana in January 1969. This mission work grew into the Corriverton Baptist Church. His life was dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Christ whilst meeting the needs of the community around him. His motto was “Bloom where you are planted”.

Almond met the love of his life, Yetrawatee “Nalin” Shewnarine in 1969 and they were married in September 1971. Together they started the Roadside Baptist Church, the Roadside Baptist Skills Training Center and Living Stone Baptist Church.
