On August 1, 2024 several units responded to a vehicle crash in Lakeland. The call came in just around 3:20 p.m.
The accident occurred at the intersection of New Tampa Hwy & Pine Chase Avenue in Lakeland, FL, close to County Line Road.
The vehicles involved were a truck and sedan.
Lakeland Fire Department had five units respond to the scene.
Additionally Polk County Fire Rescue arrived on scene. The Battalion Chief confirmed that they transported two patients to a local medical facility.
Information regarding extent of injuries is unknown at this time.
After speaking with Lakeland Fire/Police PIO, it was confirmed that there is a westbound closure at the intersection of the crash site and traffic is being diverted to County Line Road.
Lakeland Fire Department says that the active scene was terminated just after 4:00 p.m. but police are still on scene investigating, so road may be shut down for a longer period of time.
Please use alternate routes if possible until the scene is completely cleared.
