Lakeland Fire Department –
Lakeland Fire crews responded to a structure fire yesterday (July 16, 2024) on Alexis Drive in Sunlake Estates. The fire was reported at approximately 3:00 PM. When firefighters arrived on scene, they discovered a significant portion of the structure was already engulfed.
Fortunately, the dwelling was vacant at the time, and no injuries were reported. Despite the quick response of our LFD firefighters, the structure suffered extensive damage. After investigation, it was determined the cause was due to a lightning strike.
