Registration is open for the annual Mardi Gras 5K race, presented this year by Lake Wales Medical Center on Friday, February 5 at 6:00 PM.
The race will start and finish on Park Avenue downtown near Market Street. Race route will go down Park Avenue to the lake, where it will follow the fitness trail. Runners will then turn around and return on the same route.
Check-in will begin at 5:00 PM downtown near the clock tower on Park Avenue at Market Street. Cost is $25 and includes a T-shirt, glow bands, and two free drink tickets for the Mardi Gras Beer Garden. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers. The awards ceremony will be held following the race at the Mardi Gras beer garden.
To register, visit www.finalmileracemanagement.com and click on registration link. Register by Jan 31 to guarantee a T-shirt. Walk-up registration will be available at the event, but shirts cannot be guaranteed after January 31.
