Residents displaced after a fire tore through their Winter Haven home overnight.
On May 31, 2024 at approximately 1:50 a.m., Winter Haven Fire units responded to a structure fire at 232 Ave B NE in Winter Haven. Once on scene, firefighters found the residence engulfed in flames. Thankfully, everyone was reported out of the home. No injuries were reported to firefighters or residents.
As firefighters began to battle the blaze, a nearby tree also caught fire, which was extinguished. Out of an abundance of caution, neighboring residents were evacuated.
At approximately 3:45 a.m., the fire was extinguished and investigators were able to enter. At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation.
The Red Cross was called and are assisting the residents.
