The Auburndale Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 1600 hours on May 5th, Near 3016 Reiter Drive in Auburndale. Law enforcement was dispatched at approximately 1601 hours to a shooting near the above incident location. Upon arrival, officers located a Hispanic male, approximately 27 years of age, inside a blue 2022 Chrysler Pacifica who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicated the shooting appears to be an isolated incident; however, the Auburndale Police Department is urging citizens to exercise caution and report any unusual or suspicious behavior to law enforcement immediately as the suspect(s) are still at large.
