Charles Phipps, 78, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at Somers Hospice House in Sebring.

He was born on September 25, 1937 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph R. and Martha (Shenker) Phipps and he has been a resident of this area for 8 years moving here from Canfield, Ohio. He was a retried Tool & Die Maker for General Motors. Charles was Past Commodore of Point Yacht Club, Long time 4-H Advisor, Volunteer Scuba Diver with Mahoning Co. Sheriff office, worked for
United Engineering, was a Union Rep and UAW Member. He was a member of the St. Matthew Catholic Church in Winter Haven.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Julie Phipps; daughter, Kimberly Schlegel ( Eric) of Salem, Ohio; son, Charles Phipps (Shelly) of Canfield, Ohio; sister, Sally Perunko of Canfield, Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Memorial services will be held 9:00 AM Thurs. January 14, 2016 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Winter Haven with Fr. Nicholas O’Brien officiating.

Those who wish may make memorial donations to the St. Matthew Catholic Church 1991 Overlook Drive, Winter Haven, FL 33884.
