Man Tries To Trick West Marine Employee Into Conducting Exchange For Stolen Items

On Sept. 10, 2022, the man in the photos entered West Marine (1107 3rd St. SW. Winter Haven) and selected two shirts taking them off of the hangars. He then proceeds to walk around the store and put multiple items in his pocket.
After a few minutes, he went to the counter and asked to exchange the items from his pocket with the two shirts. Since he didn’t have a receipt, the cashier denied the exchange, however the man placed the items back in his pocket and left. It was discovered at the end of the day that the items from his pocket were never paid for.
