An important reminder from Winter Haven Public Safety Department –
“Don’t give away your valuables – including your vehicle.
A recent spike in vehicle burglaries and vehicle thefts have occurred resulting in 21 cases since July 1, 2024 (14 burglaries and seven vehicle thefts). Of these cases, a resounding 12 of the vehicle burglaries had the vehicles unlocked. Of the thefts, 5 had keys left in the vehicle.
This is a crime of opportunity. Make it difficult for criminals – lock your vehicle and secure your keys away from the vehicle.”
